How much does it cost to ship a couch across North Carolina?
On yoomzoom, a couch or other large item runs about $110 for the full Charlotte–Raleigh corridor (~156 miles) and about $65 for Greensboro–Raleigh, with a flexible 3-day delivery window. Tighter windows cost a step more (about +15% for 2 days, +30% for 1 day). Prices are flat and shown upfront, based on item size and distance — typically half or less of what movers or freight charge for a single item.

How do I know my stuff is safe?
Every job runs the same five-checkpoint chain: an ID-verified driver, a photo and code at pickup, payment held in escrow, a photo and code at drop-off, and per-item coverage the whole way. Coverage up to $1,500 per item is planned for launch — final terms will be published once the policy is bound. Nothing advances until the previous step clears, and you pay only when delivery is confirmed.
What can I send — and what's not allowed?
Great to send: furniture, appliances, instruments, assembled bikes, empty tanks, car parts, kayaks, Marketplace and estate finds — anything that fits safely in a car and is legal to own. Off the platform entirely: hazardous materials, firearms and ammunition, anything illegal, live animals or plants, perishables, and cash or high-value valuables.

Do drivers need a special license or a box truck?
No. Any car with room counts — a sedan trunk, an SUV, a pickup, a van. At launch you'll need to be 18 or older with a valid NC driver's license, current auto insurance, a passed background check and a smartphone. No commercial license, no CDL, no box truck.
Does my car insurance cover driving for yoomzoom?
The straight answer: standard personal auto policies exclude carrying property for a fee, so your existing policy alone likely won't cover this activity. We will publish exactly what platform coverage includes — and what stays on you — before launch, before anyone drives. If you already drive for gig platforms, many insurers offer a delivery endorsement worth asking about.
When does yoomzoom launch, and where?
We're launching in October 2026, starting with the I-85 spine — Charlotte through the Triad to Durham and Raleigh — with the I-40 legs west to Asheville and east to Wilmington right behind it. The site is a waitlist today: nothing is booked or charged yet, and everyone on the list hears first.
