Prohibited items

yoomzoom moves big, awkward, legal things between people. Drivers are regular people in regular vehicles, so some categories are off the platform entirely — for their safety, yours, and the law’s. This list applies to every job; a driver can refuse any item that appears to be on it.

Never allowed

• Hazardous materials — fuels, propane and other pressurized tanks, paints and solvents, fireworks, pool chemicals, corrosives, standalone lithium batteries and battery packs shipped loose. (A battery installed in an intact e-bike is fine.)
• Firearms, ammunition, and weapons — including parts, receivers and magazines.
• Anything illegal to possess or transport under North Carolina or federal law, including drugs and drug paraphernalia.
• Live animals and plants — no pets, livestock, or nursery stock. (Empty tanks and terrariums are welcome — that’s a whole lane.)
• Perishable food or anything requiring refrigeration.
• Cash, jewelry, bullion, and high-value small valuables — anything whose value is out of proportion to its size. Planned per-item coverage tops out at $1,500; don’t send what a claim couldn’t make whole.
• People and remains — no passengers, no exceptions.

Great to send

Single furniture pieces, appliances, instruments and amps, assembled bikes and e-bikes, empty aquariums, car and motorcycle parts, kayaks and odd-shaped gear, estate and Marketplace finds — anything that fits safely in a car, SUV, pickup or van and is legal to own. When in doubt, check the oversize checker or email us before posting.
